Tonight at TinyShowcase...

Just because it's Christmas it doesn't mean the whole art world comes to a halt, oh no. TinyShowcase are still set for their usual Tuesday release- and it's a very decent one at that. Not only can you see the actual print being released tonight early (see above), you will be pleased to know that 100% of all proceeds are going straight to the Alley Cat Allies foundation. Which, as the name suggests, helps cats.

The print being released is a letterpress (pressed by DWRI) by Keith Greiman and Keith Shore and will be an edition of 100. Buy it from the TinyShowcase at 12:30am GMT. Did I mention each print comes with free stickers?

Two Dondi White Prints at the Baurmann Gallery

The Baurmann Gallery has just released two prints from the late legend Dondi White. Both of these prints are currently on pre-sale for $75 less than when they're officially released (on the 27th). They are still in stock but running low; if you want a print from one of the most influential graffiti artists of our times then make your purchase sooner rather than later. The two prints, entitled "D5" and "Rain Proof Parade" (click title to buy) both cost $175 and are numbered out of 100. They both measure in at 15" x 19".

The Aquarium Christmas Shop

The Aquarium L-13 Gallery have opened up their very own Xmas-themed shop featuring a wide range of classy calenders and cards perfect to give to any elderly relatives you may be seeing this Christmas. All this on top of the usual range of rare art, vinyl and more. Click here to browse.

Over and out, have a pleasant Yule.

£1 Art at Artichokeltd

Artichokeltd have truly given in to the spirit of Christmas, updating their site with a very generous offer indeed; at a random time on a monthly basis a highly desired print will pop up on the site for just £1. The first release was none other than Morons by Banksy; definitely keep your eyes open. Click here for the £1 page.

From the site:

Well it’s Christmas and we thought we would enter into the spirit of things again by offering a print for £1 (postage will be approx £600 pounds though…!!!!!).

On a serious note postage is free and the prints/print will be signed and numbered and will be something that your likely to want in your collection.

I started this company through a genuine love of art and so have decided to add a couple of features for the New Year to keep things fun -

The £1 print will ‘pop up’ on a monthly basis and so will ‘I wanna trade’; If you like a print we have but dont have the funds to buy it you can trade me for it. Either a piece that you have done yourself or a piece in your collection you no longer want. I’ll add your piece to my private collection (if I like it). Just email me through the ‘contact’ button on the homepage with your suggested trade.

The next time we do a ‘pop up’ gallery we would like to have a ‘swop shop’ evening for all of you to come along and trade prints. Let me know if you like this idea and I’ll make it happen.

Look out for the £1 print going live within the next 48hrs. The background on the website will go ‘red’ to indicate it’s live and ready to purchase. Alternatively email me and I’ll tell you what time/when it’s going to be available – no secrets here.

Some of you on the forums have also discussed the £50 print and what you can get so at the same time the £1 print goes live we will also have a selection of prints available for £50 and under….................... but only for an hour.

Finally I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a great New Year. All the best, Pete

I believe I speak for everyone when I say Artichokeltd are awesome.

This skate deck was originally released a few weeks ago but quickly sold out- but fortunately for those that missed out, it is now back in stock and available to buy right now for $100. The edition number is pretty vague; it could be an edition of 100, it could be unlimited. Time will tell. The deck is 7.5" x 31" and is bound to look pretty damn good either on your feet or on your wall. Buy it here.

Kinsey Print Cancelled

I know at least one of you were looking forward to the upcoming Dave Kinsey release known as "Warbourne Blvd"- I've got some bad news. Rumour states that Mr. Kinsey did not like how the piece translated as a print, and the project has thus been cancelled with all trace of it deleted from his site. The horror.

The horror.

Paul Insect would be the latest artist to hit the Santa's Ghetto Online Shop with his latest release entitled "Who The Believe". It has Pinocchio, seven colours and a giant missile all for just £300. The relatively low edition size (150) forced this one to sell out quickly, but stay dedicated; lone prints are popping up all the time. Click here to see more/buy.

Two for One at Hoodacious

Stef at Hoodacious released a double-set of prints ealier today. For your £50 you get TWO prints, both editions of just 12 (that's right, twelve); good news is, that was a total bargain. Bad news is they sold out before I could get this post up. Sorry! Visit Hoodacious to hear it from the horses mouth.

Lucy Mclauchlan Set

"Twins Left" and "Twins Right" are the appropriately titled names of the latest two prints by Lucy Mac, available exclusively at Santa's Ghetto (and eBay, but lets not get into that). At £150 per edition-of-200 segment, getting the set isn't cheap- but the results speak for themselves. Buy it here.

3D at Santa's Ghetto

With an edition of just 25 per print, these have (of course), long sold out- but here's the scoop anyway so you can feel bad about missing it. Mr. Del Naja (AKA 3D), famous for being a membor of Massive Attack and his impressive art skills, dropped five prints today at the Ghetto online shop. Priced at £275 (a relative bargain when you consider the previously mentioned edition number), they sold out in seconds. See them here.

New Anthony Lister Print at Paper Monster

Anthony Lister is rising at a rapid pace, and his latest release proves it; it sold out before I could even begin writing this. The 24" x 24" print, entitled "Superman", was signed and numbered from an edition of 45. Find out more at PaperMonster.

You can find out more and test your refresh-until-print-pops-up skills here.

Tuesday 11 December 2007

Tuesday's 20x200 Release

Edition of 200: $20
Edition of 20: $200
Edition of 2: $2000

Can't argue with that. Today's release, Amnh #30 by Joseph O Holmes, has just been put on their site. His last edition sold out rather fast indeed (with both medium and small now gone), so if you're interested then go here and buy it before it's too late and you live a life filled with neverending shame and regret.

Today's TinyShowcase Print...

Example

... is by Robert Samuel Hanson, whose website can be found here. The edition-of-200 print continues TinyShowcases letterpress saga, and Robert's work (example above) looks like it will work particually well as one. 12:30pm GMT on the TinyShowcase site; be there.

The Santa's Ghetto Print Legacy Rages Onwards

POW are working me too hard. Another three releases earlier today (sorry, didn't quite manage the whole "live update" thing); 3 x "Mickey" by NY's very own Bast. The basic image (see above) came in at an edition of 100 priced at £225 while the other two (glitter & coloured) were £350 and £275 in editions of 40 and 30 respectively. All editions were 76.5 x 57. The ghetto ain't cheap. You can visit the Santa's Ghetto online shop (and have a peek at the Bast's) through this link.

I know these Ghetto posts are getting tedious, but you'll be thanking me in a few years time. In the meantime, I'll be posting some non-POW news later on.

Three New Aiko Prints at the Ghetto

It's been a while, but Aiko has just dropped three brand new prints at the ghetto. Two editions of "Crystal Clear" and "Cant Handle" [sic].

Crystal Clear is an edition of 100, signed and hand-finished by Aiko and £225. The special edition version of Crystal Clear comes in at £325 but is limited to just 40 and is a bit more colourful. The final Aiko print, Cant Handle, is the cheapest of the lot at £175 and an edition of 150- again, hand-finished. You can buy all three from the Ghetto Shop.

BlueFlip Art Release

The latest print to hit the BlueFlip Art site is by artist Flyk. The 7.2" x 9.5" Archival Giclee Print
is from a numbered Edition of 50 and is available here for just $30.00. Better still, a portion of all sale proceeds go straightto Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.

Monday 10 December 2007

Madonna & Karl by Mark Ryden is UP

PressurePrinting have at last released their framed Mark Ryden print "Madonna & Karl", previously mentioned right here. At $5000 it certainly isn't cheap, but Ryden is pretty A-List as far as artists go- and the framing is certainly a nice touch. You can buy it here, but don't expect it to hang around for too long.

Mexico City II by Evan Hecox Released

A welcome break from the stresses of Santa's Ghetto has come in the form of a second version of the previously released Mexico City by Evan Hecox. Priced at a very reasonable $95, the print is limited to just 100 and is 16" x 20". It will sell out quickly, so go to Arkitip and buy buy buy.

Yet Another Online Ghetto Release: Memento Mori by Faile

Didn't want to post yet another Ghetto post today, but Faile are pretty major so here you are. Here's the hot news of the hour: Faile have released Memento Mori, edition of 175, £400, 28.5" x 19". Despite the hefty price, it still sold out in under two minutes. Unfortunately for a few, POW seem to have oversold the edition by ~50 leaving some with a print stuck in their basket which they aren't allowed to check out. Excuse the tastefully-stolen-from-eBay-listing photo, but the Faile section of the site has disappeared completely. On that note, it's pretty damn shameful that they're already being resold at this stage anyway. More news coming soon.

Santa's Ghetto Online Shop Update

The people at POW have been busy, with another two prints being released- this time by Blu and Eric The Dog, priced at £175 and £150 respectively. You can find out more/buy from the Ghetto shop right now.

The Blu print, entitled Funeral, is a 70 x 50cm print from an edition of 250 while the Eric The Dog piece, entitled Frog Chariot, is 41.5 x 70cm and also from an edition of 250.

Santa's Ghetto Online Shop is OPEN

At last, the Bethlehem ghetto shop has opened up to the virtual side, unleashing two brand new pieces by Kelsey Brookes.

Up to buy right now are Thai Terror 1 and Bikini Circus 1 both priced at £95, signed by Kelsey himself. Buy them now from this link. More updates soon...
