Familiar Friends at project:gallery

If Drains Could Be Unclogged by Cherri Wood
9" x 11", mixed media on paper
$400 (here)

Kicking off tomorrow (April 19th) at the project:gallery is 'Familiar Friends', a group exhibit featuring artists Lisa Alisa, Erika Yamashiro, Cherri Wood and Lindsay Campbell.
The show will be the US gallery debut for both Erika Yamashiro and Lindsay Campbell. Alongside veteran NY "superflat" artist Lisa Alisa, the three emerging artists present work showcasing their unique styles, while giving us their versions of the female form. Bordering between innocent and erotic, each artist expresses their varying degrees of femininity through their alter ego's on canvas. We are left to ponder where self portrait ends and the characters begin.
The show is to run until May 1st, click here for the project:gallery site (be sure to check out the blog). The preview for the exhibition is currently available to view online through this link.
